I need to replace my chain and sprockets on my 350x and I am wondering weather to go with a non o-ring or an o-ring style chain. Also what brand of sprocket would be best.I ride on some sand ,some mud,and cross the ocassional creek.I would think the o-ring chain would be the best for my application because it has some seal protection. But I really would like to have your imput.

I am a big fan of O-ring chain. I have always used it on my 350x, with great results.

I didnt think they made that much difference until i started off-roading. And i found out if you ride off road at all. Dirt, mud, sand, snow just about anything short of riding on a tar road. Then you had better go with the o-ring chain. Every thing seems to get into the chain and rust then and wear them down. You can get by with a standard chain if you want to change chains a couple times a year and keep putting new chains on. Or spend the money on the o-ring chain and not have to change them so often.

As far as brands of chain, I swear by R-K. It goes a long time without stretching (fewer adjustments) and it just plain lasts. On top of that, it's one of the cheapest.

As far as sprockets go is it better to go with a steel or alum. alloy for the best all around durablity.

Steel's going to outlast aluminum. I haven't priced 'em lately, but I got my last chain from Chaparral.
