thats a 85 swingarm,,,why?

nope....if you look at it close,it has the brake caliper bracket stud that keeps the caliper from rotating that they went to in `86....the `85 had the little torque arm thingy.....but it`s an `85 carrie,which i so recently found won`t fit the `86 swingarm,as the `86 carrier is a lrarger outside diameter than the `85.....so that carrier pictured would be floppin around in there......so i dunno what the story is here

looks like a stock 85 to me.... that stud is where the brake stay bolts on,,,,,,, the stud on a 86 is closer to the carrier mount,,:D

Its an 85. Look at the carrier adjuster thickness and slots.

what does he mean its been shortened? they try to cut and weld it at the carrier i hope.

Shortning is common in flat track racing. Most the hardcore falttrackers shorten the swingers and lower it.
