Good Day All,

I have been lurking on these boards for awhile now and now I need some help.

I have a 1984 ATC200s that i picked up for next to nothing, but it has no spark. I changed the coil, spark plug wire, and ditched the wiring harness because it didn't look very good. I got the wiring diagram and built my own. Still no spark. At this point I was thinking it could be the stator and all the goodies in there so I could not find a good deal on those parts so I bought a complete new motor with everything on it. (except for Wiring Harness) Still no spark.

The only thing I am thinking now is the wiring harness I built is not right. I have checked the diagram a million times and it looks good to me. I can't find a new wiring harness anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The only good way to troubleshoot your problem is to find a running trike to swap parts back and forth from. Trike electrics seem to be the biggest problem around here.

Or get a DVO meter and test every thing. they all have test to tell if they are good.

Would that also help me with my 1985 200s that fires but won't rev up? By now, we have gone through the motor completely, changed the harness, the coil, and the stator.

It will still not get out of 2nd gear because the motor is not moving the 3 wheeler fast enough.
