would the cdi box make my honda run like crap?

its sluggish and boggy
it boggs down in every gear

I would clean the carb first . and put a filter in the line . all the crap from the tank goes too the carb.

people have told me here that the magneto in it could putting out enough power for my honda to even run

The CDI box can cause your trike to run poorly. There is not really any way to test it, the only thing that can be done is to install a known good CDI box and see if the trike runs better

where can i get one for a fair price
im a country person who likes 3 wheelers but when somethin goes wrong with electronics

if its running chances are the cdi is good. take the coil off . clen the frame grounds off. all the wire contacts, remove the plug wire from the coil cut off about 1/2" reinstall that clean the plug or get a new one set the plug gap.still runs crapy remove the muffler see how it runs. a muffler on an x may look good , but can still be plugged enought to make run like sh$t. i just got mine going realy good today. it,s had around 500 bucks put in the engine. still ran crapy. hard to start, ran real choppy at low speed. i had a real nice shinny silacner new hi $ packing have had 5 crabs on it over the last 5 mons. weds i took the exhasut off and replaced that with an old rusty super trap.now it starts right up, but still choppy at low speeds. so i bought a nology hot wire. 48.00 $ spark plug wire. now it fires right up has power , idles great. i can putt around in 2nd gear nice and smooth. i still run a little rich. it has 135 main jet and needs a 130 or so. i have go and order one.
