help please!!!
my son has a honda atc 110, he was out on it the other day and came home pushing it!!! he thought the chain had come off but after checking it was ok. the problem seems to be when he puts it in gear and revs it nothing happens!!! someone says it may be the semi automatic gearbox that is at fault but to be honest i dont know where to start.....any help in simple terms would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

We will go simple first, on the left hand side sitting on the trike towards the bottom is a little hi/lo box, under it is a switch, has it been switched? put trike in neutral, and switch it and see if you get gears, sometimes going into first gear and switching it works as well... It will be towards bottom near the indicater for the gear he is in.

first, thanks for the quick reply it appears nothing is that simple!! the hi-lo lever seems to have siezed and wont move so thought i would take the side casing of to inspect it ,i got as far as the big nut holding the magneto?/generator?/alternator? situated behind the pull cord assembly no doubt you will know what i am refering to,anyway this nut will not budge no matter what!!! is it left or right hand thread?

Thanks for any help

Thanks for any help If you cant move the hi-low lever, put it in neautrual rock it back and forth and use some plyers to get it to change...if it wont budge at all take the 4 screws off around the hi-low box.....your problem is probably in there :)...

90 (guy above) is correct, the bike has to be rocked back and forth while shifting the hi/lo gear to engage it.

Does the motor run, or is it seized like the sub-transmission?

I too am with 90 on this... You shouldnt need to take the big bolt just yet. Make sure all is well in this little box first.
