Im putting my three wheeler back in the shop to get it running agian something broke in the pull rope or something any way i have a weisco piston installed. (1985 honda 200s motor)I have no idea what compresion it is but it has 2 half moons on each side of the piston. Well i was thinking since its going in the shop to tell them to put a cam or something in it. What would be the best mods and cheapest labour to get them to install.
I wont have too too much to spend so i dont really want a pipe thatll probaly be too expensive? I want more bang for the buck hp.

best bang for the buck? buy a manual and do the mods yourself. if you cant afford a pipe, how can you afford to pay a shop?

im getting stuff done at the shop that needed to be done i was just thinking of adding in a few cheap things. Ill just save up and buy a pipe i think i can find it cheaper on ebay they pop up every now and then.

It sounds like you are allready running a 200x piston. A great mod for the cam would be to put a 200x cam in it also. Or if you could find a complete 200x head with cam that would be the way to go. The 200x used a bigger intake valve for fuel flow. But just putting a 200x cam in it would make a big difference.

how much do u think a 200x cam would be? I may just get the shop to do the motor work the main stuff and bring it to a friend to install the cam and give him like 10 dollars to install it. Or how much trouble is installing a cam.?
Im thinking of getting a 200x carb which year should i look for the 85 200x carbs are always on ebay. isnt it a little bigger than the regular 200 carb?
The 200x cam and if posible i will look for an exaust.
with all these mods how much hp or speed should i see. Would it outrun a bayou 220 or older honda 300's? hmmm how bout a blaster. I doudt i would ever be able to touch one of those maybe if i go on a weight reduction and the cam, carb, and exhaust i could posibly keep up with them?
I think i would save 100 dollars if i make an exhaust but or those as eficiant as a aftermarket. I was thinking of a strait pipe.

As far as the cam goes. I cant tell you what it adds for horse power. But it broadens the power band greatly. Giving you great kick down power at just about any engine speed.
The carb is bigger on the 200x they run a 24mm and the 200s ran a 22mm. As far as what year carb. Look for a 83 200x carb. They ran a 110 main jet stock. And the other years ran a 108 main.
And the cam is easy. It can be done with out pulling the motor. Just lifting up the valve cover and loosen the cam chain. Slide the old one out. And put the new one in and retime it and retighten the cam chian. It is maybe a 1/2 hour job.
If you put the bigger carb on there. And the cam . And a good after market exhaust. And a good air cleaner. That thing will run like a different engine. But ar far as keeping up with the others. It would require some regearing to get the speed up. And you still dont have any rear suspension. So it might be a bit of a butt buster at high speeds. I did some similar mods to my 84 200s. And it was a blast to go fast on. But after about 30 minutes of riding my butt would get sore from hammering down the trails. So once you get the motor mods done. Look for a 200x frame to put that motor into. Then you will have good front and rear suspension.

Yep that is a 200x carb. The big difference was the bolt on the bottom of the carb. That was so you could change jets with out haveing to take the carb apart. As far as to much fuel. You can fine tune the carb to run on just about anything. If it runs to rich just move the needle clip up one notch and lean it out.
