350X Exhaust/DG/Cobra/Supertrapp

I picked up a 86 350x and it has the Supertrapp muffler which I don't care for personally. Which exhaust would you suggest as a replacement. My 200x has the DG exhaust on it so I leaning towards the same set up. Which seems to be the best???Cobra?DG?Supertrapp?Bassini?

if you reallyt dont like the superT id go for a dg krome.
the cobras just chap me because the the paint will not stick to them. the dg krome you dont have to worry about paint burn off just polish it with steelwool every now and then.

I will trade somone a dg for a cobra then i can to a pipe review for the 350x. I have a supertrapp, Dg, bassani, whitebros R4 and Whitebros Eseries. just need the cobra for the review.

I have never run anything but a DG on the 350X.

When I got it it had the Oval DG...No Sparky...Have to have that here in CA so I went with the DG Xccel.....

To be Honest I couldn't tell the difference...I do know that I like the Loudness of it....What I don't like is that I can not find the Headpipe to match:mad: It doesn't come with the Kit...The other DG's Do for some reason..

And unless someone has one of these DG's on the shelf, there are no more according to Honda...They are not in the new Book and there are none on the Shelf at DG...:shrug:

I agree that the DG's are loud. Maybe I'll stick with ST for a while. Its definetely more old school....:headbang:

nos_350x what white bros pipes work for the 350x?? I have the super trapp but i blew out the trapp part and need a new pipe!!! what pipe do i need for the right bends for the 350x (white bros)??? Thanks

The E series i took a pipe bender and bent a 400ex one to work. The R4 I cut off a stock muffler and made brakets and stuff to get it to work.

I still have to mount the 450R muffler on my 350X. I think it'll sound good, but not be too loud like a Supertrapp.

I assume the Supertrapp just hooks up to your own head pipe?

Here is my supertrapp. Not like any of the others you will see on a 350x. Its not just the little cheapy end piece.

Yes the supertrapp is sparkarrested. And you can quiet it down as much as you want.

The stock 450? Comon its a stock pipe, theres a reason its the first modd people make to there quads.

What does Supertrapp sell now? On there web site it looks like just a end piece. Like you would have to cut your pipe and slip it on to your stock muffler.

I'm very curious about the 450r muffler. It shure seems to me that it should flow plenty on a 350x concidering it's coming off of a machine that makes more hp stock then most piped 350x's. The 450 is 30% bigger with better tech, I hope the stock can is flowing a decent amount. Just my 2 cents, never did it so I don't really know.

not really knowing much about a 350x but as I have heard isnt the bassani pipe the overall best? I was also looking on ebay and i found a pipe called a "pipelyne"? Anyone hear of that one?

I have a Bassani on my ATC 110. I like it alot. Do they still make pipes for ATC's and 350x? Anyone know where to get one on the net New?

Do the Bassani have a Spark Arrestor?

The Bssani is not sparkarrested and will give you more of a power increase than any of the other pipes. DG and Cobra suck.

Bassani's havent been made in a LONG time.

i think u said them all...sadly, the only good one out of the three is the suppertrap. Then again, after saying that many people have been fabricating exhaust systems from 400ex/450R to their bikes...endless possibilities

1. Thats the first thing people replace on those quads, so how good are they realy? Makes you wonder if your just putting the same thing back on with a pretty face.

2. There not Plug and Play, have to fabricate.

I agree with the stock thing, your putting a stock pipe on the bike, theres a reason people change them and thats because they suck.

Thats why you dont do it to a stock pipe. Like the whitebros R4 or something elce thats going to give you some gain.

actually, if you're looking for a pipe thats quiet with decent power, its hard to beat the stock honda pipes. they're heavy, but if you were to get an aftermarket pipe to be that quiet(maybe excluding the fmf Q series), it would be so choked off that you'll have less power than the stock pipe. but if sound is no issue, then there's other options.

i believe the old 4" supertrapp with megaphone makes the best power for the 350x. tc racing used basically that same megaphone section for his pipes on the 250x/300ex's with his stepped headpipe attached and a shorty supertrapp canister. and its well known these pipes produced the best power on those motors.

Flying, I love it, same stuff i'm doin to my X's. My latest was the complete 400ex exhaust system. Now I can use any 400ex slip-on. If anyone wants me to do it buy a 400ex headpipe and ship it to me. This came out nice.
