im probaly going to buy a 200x cam/ and carb for my 200s three wheeler. What are the main diffrences between the regular s model cam and the x model. Also hes sending me a pic i may post it but is there anything to look for to tell if the cam is good or not. And how much would one be worth so i would know a decent offer to make to him thanks

The main thing to check for on the cam. Is wear on any of the parts of the cam. On the lobes them selfs and where it rides in the head.
I dont have my manuals handy to look it up. But i think the 200x cam had a higher lobe on the intake. And maybe the exhaust also. But remember the 200x ran a bigger intake valve and used one different spring on the valve then the 200s. I ran one for a few weeks in a 200s head with out any trouble. But the best way to mod it would be to get a whole 200x head with cam. That way you get the right valve springs to run that cam and a bigger intake valve to let it breath better.
As far as the price of the cam. The list price on a new 200x cam is $73.00. So i wouldnt pay to much for just the cam. Because for that much money you could probable get a whole 200x head off of ebay for $50.00 or so.

I had my eye on a good 200x carb on ebay. i just found out i was going somewhere for a few days so i guess i will loose the auction. But you said the 1983 carb which is the one i was watching ran a 110 jet. Couldnt i get a i think the next one up on ebay is 1985. But couldnt i get that carb and put better jets in it. Everyone says to rejet your carb and such but where can i find jets. Im not going to install the cam i just found out my budget for mods is 40 dollars. any way for my setup which is as follows
185 head
200 weisco 12:1 piston not sure about 12:1 but its something like that
regular 200s trans
So with that in mind which jets should i get to go with my 200x carb and where to get them. thanks for the help fuz also is it even going to boost me as muc as i thought being that im not getting the cam?
my plan is to later buy a x but this will have to last me a few years first

I dont know for sure what they changed in the engines between them years. That the 83 carb called for the 110 main and the rest of the years ran a 108. But there shouldnt be any reason why you couldnt change the jets in a newer carb. As a matter of fact if you get a carb kit from dennis kirk for $15.00 it comes with the 108 and the 110. Other wise you can buy single jets from them for $4.99 each.
I wouldnt recommend the 12-1 piston. They are to hard to get started with a pull starter you will lift the trike off the ground just trying to pull it over. Your trike stock ran a 7.9-1 piston. Just putting a stock 200x piston in it will raise it to 10-1. And you can find used pistons fairly cheap on ebay. Other wise a new one with rings is about $75.00
Keep in mind when moding a small engine like this. That any mods will make a difference. It might not be a day or night difference. But they all help. It is when you do all the mods to your motor that you would really notice the day or night difference. So just do what you can afford right now. And do the rest later.
