A Quad Purchase/Rescue Mission erupted into a Trike Clash this weekend. We had quite a good time talking Smack about non-present trikers ! 100 deg temps don't seem to affect us regular trike riders...... OH NOW THAT HAD TO HURT....

Nice turnout for the eruption, I had a blast - and didn't crash. Nic and Rex were reminded of my lack of camera skills.

Also survived the late nite beer and pizza; it has been a loooong time since I used Bud as an antacid.

C'mon C-dog and D-dog, make the Labor day trip - there will be camping and cup o noodles galore. Capt Morgan and Mr Beam will be welcome.

There is a c-store/gas tation nearby, and Lone Pine is at the other end of Owens Lake Bed (20 mi). We decided to leave friday after everyone gets off work, plan on being there b4 dark-thirty or so in time for some evening/night trailing !!!! It looks like we might call it a day saturday night, what does everyone else think?

yo Rex, did the plans change? I thought we were going to do a leisurely trip down Sat, ride in the daylight, set up camp in the daylight, ride Sat after dark and break camp when it gets hot Sunday????? C-dog should be able to make it either day since he doesn't even pretend to work on Friday, Don't know if D-dog was thinking of making an appearance.

I can make it either day, but you know we'll be waiting on Nic to weld something up before we leave:D :D :D

Yea, that's right, I got this weekend and Labor Day weekend mixed up.

FOR OFFICIAL RELEASE:
THERE WILL BE A GATHERING OF TRIKERS AND QUADERS THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND AT THE OLANCHA DUNES OHV AREA. OUR EXPECTED ARRIVAL TIME WILL BE SATURDAY, SEPT. 3RD AT AROUND 5-6 PM. OUR EXPECTED DEPARTURE TIME WILL BE SUNDAY EVENING.

THERE IS A CONVIENCE STORE NEARBY AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF MOTELS, HOWEVER MOST ARE EXPECTED TO CAMP ONSITE. OLANCHA DUNES ARE LOCATED 1 MILE SOUTH OF HWY 395 ON STATE HWY 190

OLANCHA DUNES CONSITS OF 11,000 ACRES OF SMALL ROLLING DUNES COMBINED WITH DESERT TRAILS COVERED MOSTLY WITH SAND. PADDLE TIRES ARE NOT NECESSARY, AND AS FOR THE EXTENDED TRAILS, YOU MAY PREFER BALOON TIRES, KNOBBIES OR CLEATED TIRES. THER ARE NO RESTROOMS AT THE OHV SITE, BUT THE C-STORE NEARBY WELCOMES ALL COMERS.

OLANCHA DUNES GET WINDY EVERY DAY AT AROUND 5PM AND AGAIN AROUND MIDNIGHT. WE EXPECT TEMPS IN THE AFTERNOON TO REACH AROUND 85 DEGREES. PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

THE TRIP TO OLANCHA FROM BAKERSFIELD IS APPROX. 2 HRS.
