#01 The Case of the Axed ATV

My name is Dnim…Reven Dnim and this is my partner Ekorb Niaga, we are detectives for the ATV crimes division of the devils backbone.
April 1 2002:
We were called in when a body was found in a run down shed in the Hill Country, as we approached the structure the smell hit me, aged gear lube! I knew then that this was no April fools prank.
The body had been discovered in a sever state of disassembly under a stack of old tarps and rotting lumber, The examining mechanic could not determine the length of time that it had been there but a partial ID gave us the age and race a 19 year old, Honda, very little was left, the frame, part of the electrics, rear end, and a sheared axle, in another corner a badly decayed front end was recovered, in another pile of debris a cylinder that our mechanic was able to ID as a 250cc.
All in all very little to go on, while the mechanic wrapped up the remains and prepared to move them to the garage we decided to question some of the locals.
The people in this area are not noted for being very friendly and being very suspicious of outsiders, so we proceed with manuals and torque wrenches in plain site.
We question a one Boofniff, and got little for our troubles, a lot of meaningless drivel mostly, but I couldn’t help but think that he knew more than he was letting on.
The one piece of info that he did give was: A year or two ago he remembered seeing a blue ford ranger in the area, driven by a rather seedy looking individual and he was unloading something about a hundred yards from the shed.
This was the longest coherent sentence we got, after that his mouth seized up like an overheated Tecumseh in July. We proceeded to the spot indicated and discovered several Honda odyssey frames that had been carefully tarped but when we approached a large clump of weeds and cactus we found two mopeds in a state of disassembly! Did we have a serial tinker on our hands? And where do the Odys fit in. This case was looking even grimmer, the mopeds were in bad shape, but they were built that way to begin with, hopefully our mechanic would be able to tell us more.
