What do you guys think of THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4551445481&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT), as far as being a decent value or not?
I'm interested in it.....
Does that 10.25 compression piston make a good differance?
I'm thinking about that kind of a kit, a 400EX carb, and a new exhaust, probably Cobra. That should wake things up a bit....

As your attorney, yes, I advise you to go to 10.25:1:cool:

I was looking at that also. $200.00 with a cylinder seems like a good deal. Definitely let us know how it works out. I've got a 10.25-1 in mine and didn't notice a whole lot of difference in performance.

Don't you have to send your old cylinder in as a "core"?

As the evil voice in your head, I think that's all good, but you need to think about DG, not Cobra exhaust. Or, you could sell the X, buy an R, go faster, make money on the deal, and stop being seen riding a girls bike.

Pay the $50 as a core charge and keep yours. The best thing to do probably would be to buy a sleve from LA sleve, and piston yourself, you would probably save about $70.
I would go with the Corbra over a dg. But i like my whitebroters and suptertrapp are much better than eather. With the 10.25:1 you wont see much of a gain, With the 12:1 is where you realy see the gain. Put a cam on that and say goodbye to the Pingers.
Disco- Heres an idea, build the X so it beats the R. Now thats the way to go. People dont expect and antique thumper to hang, let alone beat em.

With the 12.5-1 do you have to run race gas then? That was the main reason I bought the 10.25-1 was so I could just run premium. If you cam it you might as well have the head ported while you're at it. From what I've heard, that's where you see your biggest performance gain.

I can tell you one thing the did a really good job boring and honing the cylinder and it took about a week from the time i shipped it to get it back so they were pretty quick also.

I ride with Jason, so I get to talk trash. Have you seen the new DG set up? Pretty sweet.

However, at what point do you look at spending all this money on this thing to catch something stock? I know there's a neat factor, but I'm not wealthy enough that it's worth it. I think that Jason just wants to ride it. The reason he wants to go faster is he knows I'm getting tired of waiting for him. :p But seriously, you guys are talking about $700 (cylinder kit, cam, head work, exhaust) of mods to an already good running 21 year old trike. Seems kind of a pricey investment that he won't get returned if he sells it. The shape his is in and the current market by us, he could sell it for about $1700, buy a really clean R for $1500 and he'll pick up the gains he's looking for. Just my .02:cool:

I agree with NOS-350x...i did pretty much everything he has done to his 350x but to my 200x. Minus the flywheel...make it snappier. You'll be happy with whatever.

Don't get me wrong though, I like the 4 strokes. I'm looking for a clean 200X for the Mrs. and for playing. I'm not bashing, but from a money stand point, it just seems to me like a better deal.

OK i just got done with my bike that i put this kit on so far it runs really good with it knock on wood. I do feel a little bit more power at part throttle (cause of the break in) but dont know if its only because my motor was tired before i did the rebuild. I cant wait to open her up after the break in shes gonna move. So in short i think the kit was worth it and would do it again if i had to.

I'd just keep my own cylinder and have someone local do it. Go with the 10.25:1 though regardless. Not too high to need race gas or a pullstart, but a power increase nonetheless. do you know what bore yours is on?

I pretty sure it is 81.50mm bore now and i think it is either.020 or .025 over but shes running like a champ now!
