I got my keihin 39 pwk carb in, and have talked to others about theirs but I'm trying to figure out how to mount the stupid thing. I can probably get the back of it into the stock airboot, but wouldn't mind using a k&n slipon, and doing away w/ the airbox all together. What model k&n slips on like on the harley bikes, etc. Also, a couple other issues, I bought a rad valve for the intake, and it's for the 86 atc250r, so that means that it won't fit on the carb either. The rubber piece w/ the doulbe clamps will come off though, so is it possible to purchase a bigger boot for the end of the rad valve from Boyesen? Or do you need another rad valve altogheter Also, I bought a twist throttle for the 250r, it is a Motion pro, and the throttle calbe and cap won't fit the 39pwk, and the carb I've got came off a kx, so it's got the screw in rubber plug on the end of the throttle cable. Maybe I can hunt up a cr or a kx late model twist throttle. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :hail:

what a mess!
i would call boyseen i'm pretty sure they make that intake for the bigger carb. you must have some wide open area to use a 39mm.
running the carb with a k&n only will make the motor pretty loud beacuse the air box helps to dampen the inlet noise

i would call motion pro about having them make a throttle cable for you. they can adapt almost anything and the cost isn't to bad, i've used the service before

thanks markb, for anyone wanting to know, boyesen sells just the rubber boot, (RB1) to fit the larger carb for 3 bucks, so I've ordered it, and motion pro is who I emailed yesterday, and they make a calbe for 28 bucsk to tie into the existing thumb throttle. I plan to use the carb everywhere marb, new bikes come w/ 38's and 39's, even the 125's come w/ a 38. Plus I'm raising the compression, and putting on a racing pipe, so hopefully it won't be too big.
