View Full Version : 85 Vs 86 350x carriers

On the carriers will a 86 fit on a 85 350x.Mine is crack where the circlip goes and tell you the truth it is very expensive to replace, 215 is the cheapest i found so far I even thought about jb welding the crack. If anyboby has some good info for this e-mail me at nickelwest@aol.com

Well if all else fails you might try ebay.My 85 carrier was busted like yours and I got an 85 swing arm,carrier,bearings,clips all for $79.00.It was all in good shape.I just could not aford to pay the price of a new one.

yes you can use a 86 carrier on a 85 however you will have to also use a 86 sprocket (oem or aftermarket) and sprocket bolts. the 86 carrier adjustment side is a little wider and in 86 they use a sprocket with countersunk holes and sprocket bolts to clear the wider adjustment side. i use a 86 style aftermarket carrier on my 85

I just watched a billet aluminum (brand new) on ebay. Starting bid was 100, buy it now was 135. It got bought now...:D

I just bought on on tuesday for 219 with bearings from service honda.I went to the dealer and the same one was 349,CRAZY.
