I got a chance to go ahead and get the engine off of the Tri-Z last night and I didnt pay any attention to it before, but now with the engine off it sure seems to shake back and forth with alot of slack. Is this due to the fact I have the engine pulled? I really should have checked it before hand but I figured I would ask anyway. Also, how hard are the front forks to rebuild?

lightly rock it and see if any thing has movement. there should be no movement between the frame and swing, except up an down.

NO, I need sizes to see if I can find parts. ID, OD, Length of all parts in MM.

ok then they are bad from what it sounds. It has side to side play but i wasnt sure if it was doing that because I have already pulled the engine. What about the forks?
there should be no play in any thing. Engine in or out. except up down, roleing, and swiveling. Trip's will get a little movement with bearing wear. try tightening it.

call me crazy and correct me if you know better cause this is just a hunch but i would think that the swingarm bearing's for a blaster would be the same for the z since there both a split head tube design. has anyone tried this before and did it work for you?
i compared factory tri-z swinger pivot bearings to banshee and blaster delrin bushings. they are the same size.only the pivot bearings.nothin else is the same. but banshee and blaster swinger bearings should work on the z

What year? ^^^
85 and 86 have different size bearings so beware and make sure you order the right ones.

I just rebuilt my swing arm for my tri-z. They still make everything for it. The swing arm bearing, bushings, metal spacer, the flat washer and flat roller bearing. Even the seals. The total for me to rebuild the upper part of the swingarm was 192.00 Yamaha parts.

Same here wv.. When I got the bill for entire rear end bearing setup when I did my 86.. I didnt know if I should laugh, or cry. Yamaha is pretty proud of those suckers.

The parts person did get a laugh chuckle out me me. :wtf: Does he think I'm a dumb ***. I guess so. I bought it and pluss new axle bearings, seals, chain guids and roller that was alittle over 100.:bash:

Are there no online vendors that sell those parts at a discounted price? I need them too so this is a little depressing.

I just recently had to buy the bearings for my Z. I was in shock and made the guy re-check the pricing. I ordered the pivot bolt, nut and washer also, so it was about $260.00 for everything. Oh well, it's not like I had a choice. I asked around about the all ball bearing kits, but they only make for the Banshee, Blaster, and Warrior, no Tri-Z so I'm pretty sure there are no discounters. Could be wrong.
