Eureka!
I went sking today and the snow kinda sucked, so I left early and decided to head UP the road instead of back down it for awhile.
Bam, out of now where there is an OHV board on the side of the road:headbang:Well after further investigation and almost getting stuck in the snow out in the middle of nothing with no cell phone service I headed back down to the ranger station in stawberry (ca) and talked to the ranger.
well not only did I stumble across a place called Cow Creek but they also informed me of two other good places to ride close by. Hull Creek/Trout Creek and Crandall Peak/Deer Creek OHV riding areas. Highway 108 in Twain Hart and above Stawberry.
I am not going to ask any of you Cali guys if you have ridin there because we all no the answer to that.
"Not enough time"
"the bike doesn't run"
"to far"
"my butt hurts"
and so on.
so it looks like in the spring we will have to add a couple of these to are list.
I guess "are" would be refering to Harkey and I:doh: since the rest of you locals don't actually ride your bikes:salute:
LETS GET IT RAG!

Cool. Well it looks like I'll miss the rampage. The Thanksgiving ride at Glamis is too far out to tell, but I do have 2 1/2 weeks of nothing to do around Feb. 26 to Mar. 13. Let me know of anything and we can work something out.

Well there's the three places that are in the general vicinity. Hollister, Metcalf and Carnegie. The latter two I've never been to. My neighbor and I might go to Metcalf this weekend possibly. That leaves Carnegie, which I hear is like Hollister, but more hills and is more "open".
Then again..........Pismo always sounds great.:D

Carnegie is close to d-dog and I've been wanting to go there too. Plus it has the advantage of being SOUTH of the NorCal boys and NORTH of me. But noooooo, gotta keep going to Stonyford....

Well no Metcalf. I called asking conditions, they said only trail 1, tt track, the gp track and the mini track are open, the rest closed so no real point in going. Yeah, my neighbor has been there and says it is small. So it's looking like I'll want to make a trip to Carnegie, I'll give you guys the headsup on when that will happen. I really want to make it a weekend trip. So this will take a little time, i'll get back with you all.

DirtDingo and I have been talking.....We think the Reason there are are Freaks on here that own Trikes and never make a ride is because most of the Trips are Weekend Trips... .People might be Scared of the Dark and miss Mommy sort of thing:cry:
We are thinking of planning a Day trip to Carnegie(sp)....
We will post when we can work things out....
There are lots of people around the Bay and Surrounding areas that have trikes and never ride....
We need to make a "NEED TO BUG!!!!" list:demon:

Well, whenever I used to go on riding trips, It was with my dad. Lately he just has other more important priorities (I don't blame him). I'm 19 now and I will be attempting to go on riding trips (hopefully w/you guys) in the future, without my dad. He's is totally down with that too, except for the first few trips, He wants me to take it small, thats all. You know go for a day, next time go a weekend, etc. On top of that he wants me to start off by going with my neighbors first (You guys understand, me going with people that he and I know fully---parents duty ya know? ). Then after a while of that, I'll be open more. Just got to beat around a school schedule (just like you getting around work).

:bash: Well I'll be go-to-hell, here I thought I have been going to Carnegie, and come to find out it was Metcalf! See, I still don't know my way around this area yet! I'm from the midwest, no mountains and easier to navigate. I took the quad to Metcalf on Friday, and not much of anything was open to enjoy. Was really a waste of time, and didn't even think that there was a chance they would close off trails.:bash:
:hail: I got a notice from MWKE that I needed to get my trike up and running soon, so we can all get out and I can start to enjoy the scenery around this state. I will begin to make that a priority, and see what I can do!:hail:
:headbang: Have any of you folks ridden at the Clear Creek park? I ended up there Thanksgiving weekend by accident, because Hollister was filled to the max. I took the trike with me, but it was dying and I didn't get to ride it. I believe I liked this place the most, of the few that I have been to thus far. It was great for a quad, but I am unsure about a trike. Some of the trails were down right hard to navigate through on a quad, and pretty damn scary a few places with large ruts, large rocks, and steep climbs. Does anyone have their perspective on how this place is on a trike? I heard this past week that Clear Creek is best during the rainy winter season, because the dust (aka ASBESTOS) is much more tolerant. I loved how you could get on a trail, and ride for miles and almost feel lost! I even got sort of worried the first trail we rode, and learned to take a map with me from that point on.:headbang:
Okay, I won't take up anymore space here, but I will start working on the trike and make it a goal to start getting out with you folks soon!
 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
