Performance mods.

What kind of mods can I do to my 83 200x? I don't want to shave or over bore anything.

Cam and valve springs. OR drop it into a XR200R bottom end and switch kicker gears. www.powroll.com

Best way to go is with an aftermarket camshaft. I would go with the Midrange like the one i have. It does wonders. Be sure to replace the springs when putting the camshaft in.

In addition to the cam and springs. I recommend a good aftermarket pipe, (if money is not much of problem) a 87 XR200 carb and intake, and a Uni or K&N airfilter.
I have done the cam, carb,intake, exhaust, springs, shaved and ported head. I haven't raced but 2 things. It out ran a 250SX. It ran with but not out run a CRF230 dirtbike. Once we got to high gear, my front wheel was at his foot peg. I couldn't gain and he couldn't pull away. I have REjetted my carb since then, It runs to rev limiter in 5th now. Didn't do that whe I raced it.
Good luck. Just keep in mind, the kick starter gears are not the strongest. I also have a 10.25:1 piston in mine. Don't recommend the 12.0:1 piston.
