I have learned through the years that machines exposed to water and mud tend to lead to bolts and nuts that like to fuse themselves to other things. Without attention these fasteners will become one through the chemical reaction we all call rust. Just doping nuts and bolts with moly grease or oil just isn't enough. For swing arm bolts and nuts, axle bolts, wheel bearings and any other place that has a tendency to rust, I use water pump grease. Some people have referred to it as Apple lube. Whatever its called, its a special grease that's made specifically for water pump applications. It's thick, gooey, and isn't broken down by water. Whenever I reassemble I put a dab on threads and in the case of swingarm and axle bolts I coat the snot out of it. This stuff does not fade away after time. Rusting fasteners isn't a problem anymore after that. It can be bought at some pool supply stores or places that deal with most types of water pumps. Hell, it even works on boat trailer wheel bearings. Try it, you won't regret it.
