Stan, I painted my YT125 camo colors a few years ago and it just continues to flake off. I used a self etching primer for plastic and flexible paint. Didn't work too well. As far as Maier fenders, I have not found any for a DX. I'm guessing that is what you want it for. I have a Dennis Kirk catalog right here and there are no plastics for any Yamahas'.Sorry for all the bad news.

I painted the plastic fenders on my Ducati some years ago and they still look pretty good
roughed them up with sand paper(180 or 220) then shot them with epoxy paint said "Flexible will bond to almost anything" on the label wish I could remeber the brand came in a spray can premixed worked real well painted a small inflatable river raft with it also looked ok while the raft was in my possesion(about 6 months) if you find this stuff post the name sure would like to find some more

stanman,
are you trying to change the color of your trike or just trying to freshen up what your current plastics look like?
if you're just trying to make the ones you have look good, you should definately consider wetsanding. i learned of this procedure here and tried it on a 110 three wheeler i picked up. the plastics on this thing were so faded you could scratch the oxidation off with your finger no prob. after wetsanding and oiling them they look almost new.
if this is what you're after e-mail me and i'll send you a comparison photo of before and after my wetsanding to give you some incentive to continue after a couple hours of sanding.
