Hey all-
I sent out my shock to works for a rebuild and they told me that the shaft was pitted and that it would be like 300+ to fix it.:bs: I was pretty sure it was not damaged and had them send it back to me. What I did not know is that they disassembled the whole thing and sent it back in pieces:rolleyes:
Well that's fine i suppose, and upon closer inspection I can see no damage to the shaft. So I want to take it up to my friendly garage chock full of tools and try and rebuild it myself. Now is this a feasible option for me? I do have many years working on stuff and my friend is an ase cert mech with 30+ yrs of skill. I will probably have to order seals and such but is this something I can do? Does anyone know where I can get a schematic or pic of the assembly? Also what type oil should I use? I really do not want to have to keep shelling out $$ on this atc. I love it but for the like 2 times a year I use it in the snow It just aint worth blowing too much $ on.
Thanks for the replies!
