Hi guys I need help. I took off my carb off my 350x yesterday and rebuilt it. I started it and it started poping and back firing. I took it apart today and realized the kit that I used was different than my current jets and pilot screw. The slow jet was a number 43 and my slow jet was like a 38. The hole on my new slow jet looked bigger than my old jet. My new pilot screw was also shorter than my old one. I put my old parts back on the carb and it still pops and back fires/ shoots fire out of the carb. It will not run right, what do you think is going on? Plus my throttle is sticking, but the cable is fine.
The sticking is probly the cover you put on the end of the throttle shaft. on left side of carb. If you tap it on to far it rubs on the end of the shaft.
What carb kit did you get ?

Make sure your slide is not in backwards. The smalle pin goes in the small groove. Using old jets now? Still back firing? uuuuummmmm
float level correct? did you install the small o ring on pilot screw? Sounds like not getting enough fuel????

The float is fine and the pilot screw had the right metal and rubber washers. I put all the old stuff back on and it still is acting the same way. I bought a carb off a ebay that is supose to work great, so next week I will install it and see what happens. I took it apart today and put it back togeather and it is still acting up the same way. I am mad at my 350x. I bought the kit off of ebay.
The kits off E-bay go to the 85 not the 86. I have one of the kits to see what the diff is.

I solved the problem! I took my carb apart one more time this morning and looked at it, I thought to my self to rebuild it one more time with the new jet kit and threw it back on. I took off my jerry rigd fuel filter that was betweeen the pet **** and carb and blew in it, and guess what? I pinched it shut the last time I took it off and it was starving for gas. I put a new hose on and started it. VROOM it ran like a champ. I adjusted everything and took it for a 2 1/2 hour semi hard ride. The bike does not skip a beat. I am happy about my bike now. The sticking thottle was a bent lynkage arm. My bike is ready for an oil change and then to Gorman!
Thanks for the help fellas.
 Nice it was simple.
Bad it was something
Glad it running good. :headbang:
