I have recently gotten my 83 atc 250r running. I found out, however, that the bolt underneath that keeps the oil from the crankcase from draining is stripped. The plug leaks a little but does not fall out. I need to get this fixed, but I don't want do start drilling and tapping. Is there some way I can get around this problem? I have heard of rubber plugs that have a bolt in the center and when you tighten the nut on the bolt it puts pressure on the walls of the hole. I don't know if the oil will break down the rubber; or even where to find the plug if it exists.
Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you 200sx_basket you helped me find my swingarm.--After a few mods-- I made it work!  :yup:

They make oversize plugs for cars that you just turn into the hole and it cuts new threads. I would think that you could find one for an import car that would be the right size(metric).

It happened to me twice on both my 185s. All u do is first drain the oil and then on the bottom there should be like 3 or 4 screws holding on the botton piece that the plug screws into. take that off and take it to a honda dealer and they will give u a whole new assembly for like 10 bucks and theyll give u a new plug and gasket set. Hope it helps:confused:
