I see a lot guys say they have the 89 update on the atc 250R clutches. what exactly is this? Is it still available? Any feedback....My cluthches seem ok but maybe it's worth doing soon. Does it utilize the stock basket? Thanks everyone......Dove

88-89 250r has a needle bearing instead of the little steel ball on the rod that disengages the clutch. you can buy a complete kit to convert your bike for $63 from www.calatv.com go there and search for part number 21040

if you don't have clutch issues i would not waste the money,,, what happens is the rod that runs through the middle of the shaft gets worn out and you run out of adjustment,it happend cause the ball spins with the clutchand wears the end of the rod ,, and the rod wears on the actuator arm also,,, ,, i had that problem on my 85,,, so i put a larger ball in it and that was 3 years ago,,, :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: next time i tear it down i will do the update,,,
