350x valve cover dowls, use again?

When taking out your rockers from the valve cover, it says to drive out the dowl pins after cutting a gap out and driving it out. Can you just use some plyers and pull the pins out, then use the old pins? On a 350x.

I have heard of people reusing. I DON'T recommend it. I know they are a type of press fit. I am not sure if they should be reused. The manual says to REPLACE. I trust Honda when they say/suggest you replace something. I don't think they cost that much either.
