Im new to 3wheelers just got my first one. I have one ?

I just bought a 3wheeler off of a guy. I saw it in the paper so i called him
he just wanted 100.$ for it , he said that the motor might work and he had
problems with the gears so he tore into it and one of the gears was stripped
so he put a bran new one in it. He put it all back to gather and it still wouldn't
go in to gear....So i thought to my self the body is in good shape, it has good
tires on it and a big rack on the back...Ill give you $50. for it and he said Ok.
Later that day i was working on it and i did some prep work to the motor
i put a new gas line on it cleaned out the gas tank and checked the sparkplug.
I sprayed some B-12 in the carb it busted off on the first pull, the gears wouldn't
work so i immediately turned it off. I took a flashlight and looked into the oil pan
where you check the oil it was bone dry and shiny down in there at that. I put
some oil in it and i started it up and drove it around the yard. I was amazed to
say the least..$50. He put the motoer back to gather and did not put oil in it, got
mad at it and did not want to work on i it anymore. So i got a good deal out of it!

Any way my Tech ? was. He said it was a 84 185s i have read in different places
that they did not make 84 with the 185s and that it was the 82-83 that had that
motor and the 84 had a 200 in it...I don't know? The manufacturer sticker is to bad
to read. Is there any other way to tell what year it is?

Thats cool, congrats on the new trike. You can look at the bottem of the cylinder where the cooling fins end and look at the number. It will be something like 176cm or 185 cm or 196cm. This will give you an idea of what size the motor is. Lets see some pics of this bad boy. That will help alot.

Sounds like a great buy on that trike. '83 was the last year for the 185s. What part of arkansas are you in? We're having a ride down here in Mississippi that you need to try and make! Make sure you post some pics of that trike. :thumbsup:

9704 Here's the picture its not a very good one, I work days
most of the time so its a night shot. The guy that had it painted it camo but I'm
going to repaint the finders and gas tank black and put new Honda stickers on it.

Any way it's a 192cm and i forgot to tell yall that he also had bought another
complete motor for it, the same size as the one that is on it! He let me have that too.
Also; i live in the south east corner of AR in Crossett 71635...

great deal ya got on the trike! better pics required in order to maintain membership....lol...(kidding). you should take the seller 300 more bucks. you robed him. lol. seriously though, welcome and feel free to post better pics when ya can. also i think some ppl here know how to tell the make model and year by the vin #. i could be wrong but be patient and you may still get more info...

??200s im not positive though
cc's are most of the time !!! smaller than the engine is-(192=a 200)
except for my kx 420!! lol it is actually 422 ,but still called a 420
