It is probable rusted in there good. Is the problem that you cant get it to spin to pull it out. Or did you get it to spin and now cant get it to slide out?.

The main thing is to get them to spin back and forth good before trying to pull it out. That way you can work some of the rust and dirt and stuff out of there. And once you get it spinning back and forth pretty good. It should pull out. If it is still not coming out. Then you could try a plastic hammer or a piece of wood. And gently try tapping it out. They can be pretty tuff if they havent been off in 16 or 17 years.

Howdy!
As long as you can get new bearings pressed into it , it should be ok. you may want to make a patch out of some jb-weld to keep grease inside and dirt out. I have an 83 250r and I had the same problem. mine however did not come out so good. I tried going to the dealer for one and they wanted like $250 for just the carrier. I ended up taking the advice of the guys in here and started looking at ebay for one. I got a swingarm, carrier, bearings, axle, hubs, and brake disk for $100+shipping. Be careful of the year that you buy however. I bought an 81 swingarm at first thinking that it will work. The 81 doesn't even use a carrier design. Then the one I bought was off of an 84. It was identical except for one bracket I had to grind off and reweld in the correct spot. The carrier was the same I believe. If you check on ebay check for carriers or whole swingarms -you might get lucky if you search for axles also. hope this helps.
