I am looking for a carb upgrade. I have a stock 1983 Honda 200x. I am planning on doing a ground up restoration and believe I will need a new carb, due to the very bad condition of the existing one. Any sugestions on size and type? And a supplier? I know this depends on the motor mods that will be done, but give me some feedback anyway.

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum fishsticker

Have you thought about just rebuilding your old carb. It probable just needs a good cleaning and new jets. As far as a nother one goes. I would keep a eye on ebay for a rebuildable one if your is missing parts or something. But you can get new replacement ones from www.denniskirk.com and they also sell flat side carbs if you are looking to upgrade it a bit. But be prepaired to put out some cash. They sell the rebuild kit for yours for under $20.00. I am running the stock 83 carb on mine and it works great. You can allways run bigger jets in it if you need more fuel flow.

Thanks for the info Fuzzy. I tore mine down last week and if I keep it, I will need a kit and a float. Do you know if Honda still stocks the float for this carb?
