86 Oem shrouds solve that proble. Mine hit but barely maby you could use a heat gun or somthing and bend them out some.

I used maier shrouds on my clarke tank, works good, worth the money i think to buy the maier ones.

I cant seem to make my picture sizes small enough to post on here of them.

They dont fit totally perfect, but it doesnt hamper my steering or anything.
looks fine to me, there is a small little space in there, but thats if you are looking for it.
I'm not sure if clarke or maier changed their design, i did my tank and shrouds 6 years ago.

I had the same problem with mine Chris. I used a heat gun and a little persuation to get them to stop rubbing.

For your picture problem, go to Microsoft and download image resizer. It's a snap to use to resize your pics.

so you guys just put the maier ones one with the normal screws and no spacers, then heated them up and bent them out...but werent the shrouds were they are supposed to make a clean line from the outside the tank down the shroud not even close to flush...my shrouds sit in about half inch from the tank....looks like poop

sounds like you have a large capacity tank, in which case the shrouds will not line up flush

They do not set flush with the out side of the tank.

And there is a prob. area under the seat. The ribs on the seat sart rubbing holes in the tank.

On my 350X I have the normal capacity Clarke tank. The shrouds lined up OK, not perfect, but easily attached. I noticed that my seat doesn't wear on the tank, but that is a heck of a tip there Dads. Good to know.

Rex: are those Maier shrouds or OEM? They look like OEM but what year?

Dammit the 86 shrouds are cut back some to clear the forks better. Thats why i told the dude before to get 86 oem shrouds. They are diffrent. My Mairer shrouds hit. It dosent bother me tho.

im am talking about them hitting the forks..i am talkng about the area where they screw to tank..they sit about 1/2inch deeper than the gas tank and dont make a flush line...i have heard of people using spacers and cutting them on an angle to bring them out, but have no clue what to use or anything like that...

Chris,

I'm having a hard time picturing what the problem is. Please post some pictures. In the mean time see mine. I have the Meir super shouds and they fit ok. They by no means sit below the outer skin of the tank.
