When we bought my three wheeler 5 years ago it had a set of trail pro tires on it. (its a 185) almost all the 185's ive seen have these tires on it. they have squeres and rectangles and such all over it. Well any way the bike sat for a while and the tires dri roted a little. Well they always had a slow leak recently its gotten so bad that every time i put in a plug the crack just gets bigger. Now my dad use to have a old 200e yamahamer it had a intertube in the front tire. (lol the tire was so driroted it was practicly riding on the intertube) well i was thinking of putting a intertube in my tires. Would there be a reason not to. I mean its not going to mess up at all will it.

Since im not too skilled with tires i was thinking of bringing it to a service station and letting them do it. I have 2 other tires that are almost brand new that have alot of grip on them that are also cracked in spots. Since money is a little tight im wanting to get the cheapest way out posible. My front tire is the original it dosnt leak all that bad. One back tire u can hear air coming out of it. thats the one im going to fix.. I may do this one now and when the other starts cracking bad ill just put a tube in it too.

Is there any sort of spray in tube? that would be alot cheaper. i know they have something caled green gunk or something of that nature would that at all help. I really want to fix this problem in the cheapest fastest way. I hope the service station dosnt want 15 dollars for a inertube.thanks please give me any suggestions on what i should do

btw i think my tires have like 10 gallons of fix a flat. thats what i always used. but its gotten so bad now i need another option:lala: :lala: :lala:

green slime will not fix your tire if it,s as bad as your making it. a tube will cost you close to the 15.00. you may find one for around 10.00 then what ever it cost to have it put in. many times when a tire ha been on a rim for along time. they will be rusted on and will tear when they are removed. if find that antifrezze works better than green slime. use a quart or more. it may not do the job in your tire. sounds like a new tire will be cheaper in the long run. unless you put the tube in yourself. some tire shops will put them in free if you buy from them, same with some of the small bike shops

Don't feel bad . put a tube in it . even with new tires i get sick of screwing with the rims leeking at the bead. and put tubes in wala prob fixed. Just have them put a pach in the tire over any small tairs you have been tring to plug to keep dirt out. you can run less air in the tire with a tube , smother ride.

Tubes will work fine in a tire for a 185s and the like, but I have tubes in the paddles for my 350x, and have trouble with spinning the tires on the rims and twisting the valve stems of the tubes. Im going to get a new set of paddles, on new wheels, the next trip to Oregon. I hope that leaky paddles are a thing of the past then.

yeh im going to tube it. I went to diniskirks website and the tubes range from 5-10 dollars. Probaly be cheaper to just get it around here instead of paying for shipping. I found the hole i went outside becouse i would never be able to sleep unless i know i did all i could to try to fix it. Well its another crack. I was riding on a concrete road today. Not a highway just a little road my grandmother lives on. Sort of like a dead end country road or something. Concrete + old tires = cracks. I remember when i was like 8 or so every teenager down my street had a three wheeler. It was really funny (mid 90's) but they all had trikes there were like 10. bunch of 185s and 200s 110s almost every make. I rember them telling me that the concrete were bad on the tires. they use to ride around my block all the time and learned it the hard way before i even got my own trike.

i rember one guy had a 200x with air shocks he use to ride around on he would hit a jump and knock the air out of his shocks. highest ive ever seen a trike fly in person. they are all in there mid 20's now that im into riding noone is around. either that or they just stay inside on the internet.

Try some rubber cement or some adhesive on the bead to stop the tire from slipping. :demon: i did:thumbsup:

i,ve even seem tires that a guy used wire to sew upcracks in his tires. like you would do on fenders with wire ties. then he had tudes. he said they had been tha way for years????? but a truck tire hot patch would be the way to go. not cheap!

My only advice to you is get a good tube. i put one in my 200 and youd have to switch the tires from left to right and vice-versas every once in a while because the tire would spun and the valve stem would rip out of the tube. The rubber cement idea that dads has is a good one! my father uses it because it also helps seal the bead. i use black permatex silicone on some of my tires. but just save the cash and get a quality tube! good luck!

Well I m glad to see only a few responded in that way. tires have a mind of there own wen the structure of a tire ages the chemcals in the rubber change somewhat cracks splits & such a tire can blow at any time wile inflating, wile riding , sitting , or even getting a bath. I ve seen alot of wild & crazy thing with tires wile being in the tire biz for 18 years now. its like wearing ahelmet or not . u just never know whats going to happen. dont screw with your safety. BUY new tires . Be sides do u want these guys buying pieces & parts of your trike from your family after u kill yourself on it ??

I purchased a 185 from a guy last year that had tubes and within a month I had to replace the tires.
Kept spinning the tires and ripping the valve stems off.

I got a tube i havnt put it in yet. I checkd out the tires at walmart and they are 50 a piece. I wonder if i could find them 50 shipped on the net some where for both. Im going to try to tube first. I have a hot glue gun but that will probaly dry too quick. I probaly need something that will dry slow so i can air the tire up then let it sit and dry. So rubber cement worked?? So i hould up it along the tire wall or the tire wall and the rim?

wait so is it the tire that slips or the tube spins inside the tire?. ok so anything i can get to make a bead around the edge of the tire to keep it from sliping will work?
