just put my '85 250R together and ran it over the weekend.
Talk about problems!!
First put '89 CR250R head gasket on it.
38mm Keihin PJ,
Rad valve with carbon fiber reeds,
reed spacer,
stock exhaust,
13/36 sprockets, NON- o-ring chain.
new front tire(wolly-bogger footprint),
OLD rear tires filled with Slime tire sealant( this stuff really works!)
93 octane gas w/MC-1 mixed 40:1.
ALWAYS put BLUE loctite(not red,made that mistake once along time ago) on the case-halve bolts in the stator area( had one back off, and luckily!!, only put a hole in the cover).
Check all your bolts after 5 mins.
Had 2 jug nuts back-off(and it STILL run),
Lost the case-halve bolt inside the stator, and one on the outside below it.
Have replaced all bolts(with blue loctite), and tightened the rest.
still working on jetting, but thats a different story
