I'm new to this game. I just got my first trike, an 84' 110 with no spark. I rescued it out of a lady's shed and I am committed to getting it running. I've been reading the forums and have seen a trend that make me wonder if I made a mistake getting involved with ATC's. What's that trend: PARTS AVAILABILITY!

Can anyone reassure me about my decision to get involved with ATC restoration or did I make a big mistake?

The only thing that's getting bad right now about getting parts is that if you want factory Honda plastic most of you are screwed. However Maier is now making shiny plastic (one of the biggest complaints about their old stuff was that the finish was dull). Most of the rest of the stuff you can still get no problem.

does yours need anything?

I'm mostly concerned about getting it running. Its a good looking machine. Even has the original decals with only a few marks here and there. I'm mostly concered about engine/drivetrain/electrial parts. If I can get this baby running and then 5 years down the line the ingition coil buns up and I can't get one, well, that would suck, all my hard work down the drain.

There are a bunch of places to get replacement parts. Dealer is first line of defense. The previous post regarding the plastic is dead on though. Honda will clean your clock when it comes to replacement plastic, if they even have it. Parts unlimited / Dennis Kirk are the common aftermarket sources for new parts. For used stuff Dan's atv & snowmobile salvage (on the web) has a nice stock of just about anything. The internet is a wonderful thing, search on atv parts and you'll be amazed at how many links come up.
