I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem. On my 250SX the kickstart engages "some of the time" When it's cold it doesn't like to engage almost at all, after riding and getting hot it engages 75% of the time:shrug: I thought it was the sprag in the centrifigal clutch which I replaced with a another one but that didn't seem to be it. Any ideas? BTW my manual has nothing about this problem:bash:

your problem is in the kick start , the spring is not pushing the rachet in to make the lock up. the colder it gets the thicker the oil gets and sliding parts do not like to move and the spring may be getting week. mine will do the same in cold weather that is why i put a batt in it . and it helps the light to burn brighter. what weat oil are you running. i run 20-50 summer 10-30 winter.

I'm currently running 10W-40. Trying a different weight oil is an idea I didn't think of, and of course easy to do. BTW I do have a battery in it and the electric start works, I just like having the kickstart work 100% in case of emergeny;)
