If you ever wanted a leading axle for your 250R's front wheel it's not a hard modification and one that Team Honda had used in the past for certain tracks. (although they had access to "custom" parts)
the 83/84 250R's use the same diameter forks as a 85/86 350X.
by swapping the 250R lower legs for the 350X's lower legs you'll now have a leading axel. As an added bonus you'll go from a single piston brake caliper (250R) to a duel piston caliper which inturn will provide more pad surface area and result in stronger brakes.
Why would you want a leading axel???
Well first off you will lose some turning ability. whenever you lengthen a machine this will happen. Also by putting the wheel in front you increase the rake.
the benefits of this are...
a lot of people like to lengthen thier trikes by modifiying thier swingarms. this can be expensive and dangerous if not done right. or they buy a new one. very expensive.
plus after you've modified your swingarm you'll need at the very least a stiffer shock spring and possibly a new shock. adding more expense.
a longer trike tends not to wheelie over backwords as easily
so if your looking to get a couple of inches ( the actuall amount is aprox 2.5" ) added to your 83/84 250R this is a cheaper option.
