84 200X Carb Question

Hey all, This has been awhile a go but earlier this summer we bought a carb rebuild kit from Shindy for the 84 200X, We cleaned and installed all the part's but I think there is a problem with slide needle seat assembly, The old one we took out was flush with the bottom of the carb (when looking through the intake side of the carb) The new one sticks up a good 1/4" up. Is this normal? I ask because anytime the trike is under a load getting up to speed the thing just bucks and bogs out... but starts and idles nice! I hope nothing is broken :doh:

The needle jet SHOULD stick above bottom of throat. Maybe 1/16 of an inch. If is flush, either someone filed it off or wrong one. They all should be up a little. Thats how thw fuel gets into throat of carb.
