Diffrences in almost the same modle!?

Ok i am going to buy a 1983 honda 200 big red, but im not sure if its a big red or super red, the kid is basicly giving it to me so it dosent matter but its shaft drive foward reverse electric start? any ideas? i was just curious if it was something other than a big red. OH and dose any one know where i can get honda parts diagrams with honda part numbers parts fish dosent give you oem numbers anymore. thanx, ATC_250SX

Shaft drive didn't come out on the big red until '84. It should have electric start though. I don't know where to get the oem numbers anymore.

Call servicehonda on the phone and they can order you a parts fiche for your trike. There about $5. Then go the the library or some other place that has a fiche printer (like the technical library at work :D ) and print out all the pages. Put them in a binder and you have a parts book. Ive got the 350x done this way, and the older 200x, and the 250sx.

The 83 didnt have reverse either. Just electric start. It must be a 84 200es Big Red.

I dont think they put shaft drive in till 85 . and the big red had sub trany for low gear

if it is then the 3wheeler.org quest for the answers to the super red will go on! cause i have got a super red (see pic in sig). i also have an 83 200e big red and they are great machines.
and 1 more thing: i too got microfiche for my trikes and my uncle printed them out at powernet (his work) for free!:thumbsup:

to be truthfull with you the kid is a real flake he isnt sure what year it is i do know its a shaft drive and i asked him about it today and he wasnt sure what the year was. it needs a baterie and brakes, he wants 50 bucks i think im gonna take it
it runs like a top. he just dosent want it anymore. well thanx for the help. I will post pics when i get it. he is being extreamly slow about turining it over. but for the price i can wait:demon:
