Forgive me or throw me off. This question is about an old 78 Yamaha dirt bike. Ran good last time I rode it. Then went to crank it about 2 months later and couldn't budge the kick start..Tried rolling it in gear and letting out on the clutch but no luck. Put Marvel MO innthe plug hole and let it set for a week...no luck When I removed the muffler it was full of gas so I guess the gas was left on and gas down through the cylinder washed off the oil and the rings stuck...Got the head off and the jug bolts loose now can't get the jug off because the piston is stuck..Any suggestions, tricks etc? Thanks

Well, when our go-kart engine seized due to lack of oil:eek: , We took the head off and put the end off one hammer on the top of the piston, and hit the top with another hammer. It broke it loose, then we poured a bunch of oil on top of the piston and just pulled the pull start to get the piston moving up and down w/ the oil. Put oil in engine this time:rolleyes: , and cranked it over and it started right up. It's a briggs & stratton 10hp. A little different, but may work for your dirt-bike also.

If the piston is not all the way down in the cylinder the cylinder should come up with the movement of the crank. if not the crank bearings are bad too.
I cut a 2x4 to fit the cylinder and drive it down. raze the cyinder, block it up with wood and drive the cylinder down more. do that till it's off.
