I know I ask alot of stupid questions on here about my 200x buut as most know it has a 200s motor on it, I have found an 86 motor though and was wondering if it would work in my 84 bike? I don't mind running a few more electricals if needed. Other then that what are the differences in the early and late modle 200x's? thanks for all your help

Totaly different frames. The 86/87 used the square frames and the mounts are differnt. And if i am not mistaken the engine is taller on the 86/87 and wouldnt fit into your frame.

I am going to move this over to the general tech section.

No it will noottt fit.

----Youd be silly to rape such a good engine by putting it in a 83-85 frame.---

Hey Rob, no offense man, but I'd be willing to bet that you'd say the 86-87 200X's sucked if you owned an 83-85!

What's with all of your "anti- 83-85 200X" comments anyway? Have you ever actually owned one?

Sure, I'll agree that the 86-87's are better machines, but seriously, must you always make negative comments about the earlier models? And if so, why do you feel the need to put them and their owners down every chance you get? How would you feel? Does it give you some sense of superiority or something? Geez man!! :nono:

Sorry, just my $0.02...

OK, fair enough... ;)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to jump on you like that dude, but it's just that I noticed you always seem to have something negative to say about the 83-85's, like once I saw you say "the 86-87 200X's are the only 200X's worth owning" and things of that sort...

It just comes across just a bit condescending, you know what I mean?
Don't sweat it, I don't take it personally. I'm just curious to know why you do that. Did an 85 200X beat your '87 once? :salute:
JUST KIDDING! :lmao:

haha...I know--no hard feelings.

Im not a fan of the 83-85's but for the pure fact of parts availability--I really do like them. I was actually plannin on buying one and seriously modding it out and painiting it all red

"fatman240" jsut sent me a pic of his---WOW that thing looks better than any 86/87 actually.

Hey Rob, Thanks for the Nice words about my 84 200X. Most of what you see is how I bought it. But I am putting the finishing touches on it.
