Make sure correct. Make sure petcock or fuel line is not restricted.
Are you sure it is losing fuel? I had one the other day the pulse generator would cut in and out when it got hot.

Check gas cap vent too. When it starts to die, take the cap off.

i had a 85 sx that would do that. my gas tank had some rust in it and it would get in the carb. check your tank and if its good then just get a rebilde for the carb.or juest cleane it worked for me. i miss my old 250 sx reverse and it was the most reliable atc ive ever had and ive had almost every honda they ever made

My 250SX used to do this when I was a teenager. It would run fine until it got warm and then it would just die. You could take the gas cap off and let it sit for a minute and it would start right back up. I drilled some holes in the cap eventually and it fixed the problem. I think the vent just gets plugged and it vapor locks? I have a plastic tank now with a vented cap and it runs great.
