Is it possible to mount a 86 200X rear brake lever on a 85 200x? I haven't got a 86 yet. So I don't know if it will fit or be made to fit.

Positively not, entirely different rear brake system on the 86. The brake pivot is on the frame and not on the motor casing.

I know they are different. I want to know if the 86 can be made to fit the 85.

Positively not is my second answer.... There are a million 85's out there why alter a rare 86 part for an 85??

To make it better. Or harder to find parts for.

For one...to make better
for two...EVERY 83-85 brake pedal I buy/find is worn out..Every kickstarter gear cover same way. I have bought 5 of each. I have the best fitting combo on now.
I want something sturdy/reliable. That is why. I will make something work or fit. I have several parts from other bikes. I just haven't got itme to do it right now. If the 86-7 would bolt on, I figure it would be faster to fix. I am thinking a 300ex rear brake pedal is close, but not sure.

There are dozens of levers that "could" be made to fit on there. Some fabricating and welding will take care of it.

I'm willing to bet a sleeve could be fit over it with a little lathe work mounted on a face plate. Send me a crappy one and I'll look into it.
