How much $$$ for Brakes???

Hi,

I am currently looking for a front and/or rear brake assembly for my Uncles Honda 200x (that he is anxious to get running).

I am going to be looking at prices on the internet and I have posted what I need in the classifieds here.

I am just wondering how much I will be looking at paying for these items?

Any ideas?

Can you clarify what you need. Are you looking for rebuild kit`s?. Or do you need the master cyclinders and caliper assemble`s them self`s. The problem with buying used brake part`s from like e-bay. Is chances are they will need rebuilding also. Hard to buy a 20year old used part that dosnt need some tlc. So i wouldnt go used unless your`s are missing or beyound repair. I believe that he needs the entire brake assembly because it is missing. They only things that he may already have are the levers.

I will clarify with him later to make sure I am correct.

Oh, one other question...

Will the brake assembly from any other ATC or ATV work as a substitute? This bike does not need to be original, it is to be ridden.

I am pretty sure some will swap. But i cant tell you which ones off hand. Maybe a 350x or a 250r. If you look up the honda parts numbers at http://www.partsfish.com and compare it to the other models and see what else it will fit. You will have a easier time finding used ones for it. Maybe some one else here could tell you which ones work.

On another note, I have just confirmed that he needs calipers, lines and master cylinder for both front and back brakes.

Does anybody have any clue how much these usually go for used?

I have seen a lot of complete front or rear unit`s selling for around $50.00 on ebay. But they may need a little work like caliper rebuild or master cyl rebuild. But i have seen some that say they are ready to use in that price range.

do you know what year it is? I think they changed in 85 or 86. someone on here can and will tell you when they changed.but they are not the same. good luck:headbang:
