tri z throttle cable and stuff

will the 86 tri z cable assembly work with an 85 with the homosexual box thing in the middle out of the picture?

I just use the 86 cable and it's just all one piece. The only thing is, the throttle assembly is different from 85-86. The 86, the cable screws in to the throttle housing, where the 85 doesn't. So, to run the 86 cable, you have to use the 86 throttle housing. Still available through Yamaha, or you can try to find one on Ebay. i just bought one brand new from Yamaha. It cost me around $65.00

Nope.....The 86 is one Piece and will Eliminate the Junction Box.....;)

i guess i'll have to take the 85 thumb throttle back and get everything for an 86.
