I'm about to put new clutch plates in the SX...never done this before on wet clutches. Do you assemble them dry, or do you assemble them wet? I've heard both...not sure which is better?

Assemble wet. Get a gallon size zipper lock bag. Put about 1/4 qt of oil in it. Install the clutch plates. Close bag(get all air out) rub the plates until wet. Then install in bike. I do this on ALL auto clutches. You can NOT release them to get oil in between them when starting engine.
I have NEVER had a problem doing this. This is MY 2 CENTS worth.

i agree, get em wet. i take a plastic bowl and some tranny fluid and wet each plate, then stack em all up in the bowl and let em soak overnight but the ziplock technique does the same thing.

Yep, it is key to let them soak. Not just coat the plates, but soak! g/l with the rebuild!

They gotta go together wet. Soak the fibre plates good before assembly.
