First of all I really dig the site. Its great. Trikers united. As for my problem I have recently rebuilt a yamaha 125 tri moto and the only thing that gave me trouble is the carb. Every time i start it it over revs and its not the throttle I checked. Any other sugestions. I know its not a Honda I own one of those too.

Over-revving 2 strokes are often caused by an air leak. This causes a lean burn condition. Start with intake manifolds or boots, then base gasket, crank seals..

Search the net for "leak down testing".

i have a very funny story about an over reving two stroke........back when i had a jet ski i went riding for the day in the inter coastal of south florida...when i got home i started it with the water adaptor attached and started to clean the motor..all of a sudden it started reving really high all by its self.........and i mean REALLY high...so i pulled the safety cord out and it didn't turn off???..i then turned the main key and it still didn't turn off??.. now i was scared of it blowing up..so i pulled the two spark plug wires off the spark plugs and guess what??? IT DIDN'T TURN OFF .:wtf: .i'm a garage mechanic and pretty good at fixing things but have NEVER seen something like this..so i turned the fuel off and it finally turned off.....well i took it to the dealer and told them what happed and they said it happens quite offen when the motor startes to run lean...the spark plugs get so hot they act like glow plugs in a rc car...the will fire the fuel with NO real spark..........learned something new that day.......and ruined a new pair of swimming trunks also......

Great story. The first time I ever saw that happen was when 3'sR and I went to Dumont. He had to throw it in gear and dump the clutch to kill it. It was a leaking base gasket.
