---200x owners only ;) ----

What viscosity are you running? and whats your take on the best viscosity to run?

Not brand names here...names dont mean a thing on 4 strokes.

Also: I have a firm belief it is veyr dangerous and stupid to run Synthetic oil in -any- old ATC....anyone got anything to say about that subject?

30 or 40 weight straight up.....no additives no 10- whatever and no synthetic....and no I have no opinion, other then it runs great cant complain.

I run straight 30W. I live on the west coast, so cold isn't a factor. If you live where it gets very cold and you ride year around I would run a multi-grade that is compatible with your climate.

I've been running 20W50 (Bel-Ray EXL, if it matters) in my '85 for quite a while now, with no problems whatsoever. I use the heavier weight stuff because she seems to run fairly hot after a while, and 10W40 was breaking down way too fast...
The last time I had 10W40 in it, it came out as thin as water! So just to play it safe, I switched to 20W50 and so far so good...

That soounds about right 200XRYDER, I usually run 10w-40 in all my wheelers all year round. but i should thin out in the winter it makes for hard starts. i dont amagine that the engines would requre diffrent oil and the only reason i need the 10w instead of straight up is the winter.

are ya, man? Thats cool ;)

I live right up the street (about a mile-a little mroe actually) from a big lake that I belive it is legal to ride on. I know another lake enar me (saratoga lake) banned all vehicles from the ice...because some freakin morons dont know the concept of "Froze through" lol

I got some Banshee dunlops on my 200x right with some good tread left. I may try to stud those some time since Im putting some 22's back on it. Nothings good in the ice unless its got studs!!

I think clean oil is more important than viscosity. I run 10-40. I change it fairly often, it's easy and there isn't much of it.

yeah clean is a good thing but i dont think you wanna be running 90 weight gear oil for crankcase oil so volosity dose count too.
