Recently my hi/low switch locked up and I could not switch it between hi and low. While the switch was locked up, the motor would run and I could put it in gear but it would not move, acting like I was holding the brake. I finally freed up the switch and it runs and changes gears like it used to but now there is a clicking coming from the h/l switch area. Any ideas on what it might be before I tear into it? Thanks for any info.

Is the high low switch the same place that the electric start button is mounted?. And could the clicking be comeing from the starter in the front of the motor instead of the hi/low on the back side?.

fuzzy the hi lo switch is on the sub transmission just behind the recoil and it sounds like you flicked while you were in gear = big rebuild:doh:

Howard..... the 200es has the hi-lo not the 250es.
Well i looked at my book and it lookes like you may have a slite bend in one of the forks. if so the clicking is the locking tabs rubbing on the gear that it locks in to. not much else to it to make a clicking.
