rode the x today for the first time in 3 months and....

i noticed this popping noise every time i let off the gas, it wasnt back fire cause no flames, i was wondering if myabe my exhause is too loose, or maybe since it been sititng up with the gas on for a good 2 months maybe that had some effect on it...but if anyone knows why please tell me so i can fix it!

It probably was a backfire. Check where the end slip on muffler attaches to the head pipe, is that a loose fit, or is it a loose fit where the headpipe goes into the motor? If so thats probably your problem. If its up next to the motor you should be able to hear sort of a clicking noise, which would be exghaust slipping by the head pipe.
