I was riding my 185X and the muffler fell off it. Is it bad to ride it with no muffler till i buy a new one? What will happen to it if i ride with no muffler (it has the headpipe)?
You will probbly burn out the valves. they need some back pressure. i can not give a time frame on how long it takes to do it.

It wont hurt anything to run it like that for awhile. The only difference is you will notice a difference in hores power gain but a loss in torque. Because of the lack of backpressure. Here is a picture of the pipe i have been running on my 200x for the last 4 months. And i was able to give the carb more fuel and air because of the increased airflow. Increasing the horse power by a couple oh hores. And i raced it hard all summer and no sign of any valve or motor trouble at all from it. But it is way to LOUD!!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

if you're gonna rejet it then you'll be ok, but you can't just leave the stock jets in w/ no muffler.

Like these guys said, if you tune everything properly, it shouldn't hurt anything too badly...
Except maybe...
YOUR EARS!!!
Fuzzy - your neighbors must love that! :demon: lol
Nice work btw! :D
If I ran something like that the cops would be here in like 5 minutes flat! :chuckle:
Unless you're planning to go wide open from now on, I would skip the tuning thing and just put a new muffler on it, or put your old one back on like Nuthinspecial said.

Kingsnake i never run it after about 8pm just to keep the neighbors happy. And we have miles of wide open trails that you can go all out for 100 miles if you want to.
ATC_250SX that is just 1 1/2" that i bent at the local auto parts store that i used to work at. It really lets the air flow.

if i could get away with that in new Hampshire i would attempt a glasspack but in my town i would get it on and five minutes later have the cops at my house!

dont even mess with glass packs, they are a waste on a trike, not enough cylinders to give it its justice with one on, on the other hand, a pipe like his, with a resignator tip on it sounds awesome, a friend of mine did that to his 89 warrior. sounds better than preety much every aftermarket pipe i have heard.

a short glasspack on a trike would be iddentical to a resonator tip. a resonator tip is a mini glaspack that goes on the tip of an exause system to give it a special sound! just thought you aghtta know that. if you were to look at the inside of a tip and the insie of a pac there almost identical and in some cases like hearthrob they are.

is a muffler that is a round tube and the one i have the case is about four inches around with a 2 inch peice of pipe rinning through it. the pipe that rins throught it has hols or scoops and unter the center there is fiberglass packing filling the void. it makes the car have a rumble to it and a "bark" when you let off the throttle.
