View Full Version : 350x Locking Axle Nut?

Just Bought A 86' 350x The Old Owner Said You Have To Tighten This Nut Every 2 Or 3 Rides Is This Commen? I Had A 200x Years Ago And I Dont Remember Having To Do This, Not That Often Anyway, Any Tips Or Tricks Let Me Know, I Seen On E-bay Someone Sells A Machined Locking Nut Anyone Using One?

I am, buy the replacement. Rocky Mountian ATV also has them. The stock ones are less reliable.

ya they will do that some times. you have to get them good and tight.

You have to tighten it real good. There is no way to "set it" just tighten the hell out of it. It forms a solid connection from the disc hub, through a bearing and the collar and the other bearing and onto the sprocket hub. If you tighten the hell out of it and the axle doesn't rotate properly then you have a problem. Most likely the bearing housing is worn or the collar inside.

Heres a little racer trick guys to the "locking hub"

Wrap the thing in black tape you dont have to go crazy just get her on there and you wont have the problem of it loosing up agian.

Sometimes I use clear silicone to keep things from coming loose also. Can't really see it on there.
