i have 1986 honda atc-250ES, it has two flat tires(would need new tires)the plastic is pretty good a few cracks in the front fender and a few in the right rear fender, its also geting sun-fadded, it has back and front racks, front/rear brakes work but front needs new cabel, both front shocks and rear mono-shock work, seat needs seat cover, the motor looks turns over and has plenty of compression, it also goes in and out of gear, it doesnt run but it only missing a coil, eletc start/kick both work great, this trike is 99% complete(in fact the coil appers to be the only thing missing) i paid $375 for a 1984 atc-200es thats in pretty good shape and runs good and the guy threw this trike in the sweet'n the deal, how much do you guys think this trike is worth??? as i see it it could be made to run with out much work but i dont like the 250's, theres not alot around, i'd just asoon have my 200 big red(at least parts dont cost an arm and a leg) so what do you guys think this thing is worth(approx). thanks for any info.

IF you could get it running it would be worth $600-800.

thats what i would do depending on the coils condition it would be well worth the 50 bucks. i know i have a spare coil for my sx due to the fact the last time i rode in the snow i think that i may have a crack in the wire somewhere and if i ever need one ill have it. you could also get a brand new coil for 50 bucks or under.

sadly one of the parts it's missing is the coil, but im gonna use a atc-185 coil(the normal round style) on it, i think if i ground the green wire to the frame and connect the black/yellow to the connector on the 185 coil it will work(hopefully) im already thinking of tradeing it for a 1983 atc-200(M?) thats in really nice shape(i'd say worth 500-600$) so time will tell i geuss, thanks for the info.

wich coil dose the es have? the round one or the two bolt one. eather should work. we used to run out 74 arctic cat panter snowmobile of a snowmobile coil and a lawnmower coil. it didnt know the diffrence and it ran pretty good. then we found the right coil and we were mjuch better off. but you do have the right idea. eather will work if you wire them right but you should get the right one eventually.

so if you take the one off the 185 that has only 1 terminal and plug in the red and black wire to that and make a connector to go from a spade to a loop and put a bolt through the hole in the coil and through the ground loop and then you could hoseclamp or wiretie the coil somewhare and youd be good to go. Ground is ground and power is power, the coil dosent care.
