Help!!!!

I have a 1984 Honda 200s. I put the carb choke all the way down when I start it and let it warm up, after it warms up for a min or so, I than place it in the middle. Now that means it's half open. I know that you are supose to place the choke in the fully closed position, but for some reason whenever I close the choke after a few mins of running, the bike shuts off. Like it ran out of gas? But with the choke in the middle it runs just fine. Very very confused.... Please help any help!!!!

Thanks for any help that can be giving.

Matt

You're supposed to run the engine with the choke opened once it's warmed up. Closing the choke just richens the mixture to help start a cold engine.

If you do in fact mean that the bike dies when you open the choke all the way to normal running condition, but runs ok with the choke partially closed, chances are you have a clogged jet in your carb and it'll need a good cleaning.

if those dont work, take a look at you mixture screw-make sure its not all the way in, and see if your pilot jet is clogged........
