I just found this site yesterday and I can tell I am going to like it. I have a 250sx that I bought about 3 years ago that gets only occasional use. When i got it the idle was turned way up and I soon realized why. It is hard to start but even harder to warm up. When it get started it has to be chocked for about 2 minutes before it can be riden without dying out at low throttle. I did see the cold start fix and am eager to try it when I get some time(just had a second baby). But I was wondering if it would help my 3 wheeler? Mine does this on every start up even when it is 90 degrees outside. The engine seems to run really hot, but I am comparing it to the 110 that I had when I was a little kid, maybe it is normal. tell me anything that y'all can about this machine because I know that y'all know the answers. Thanks alot -- Martin

Is the air filter clean?

The cold start kit is discontinued. You can drill out your pressed in starter jet until it starts in the cold well or buy an 86/87 carb with the starting updates.

About how much should I increase the jet? I am assuming very little amounts, but I really have no clue. Thanks agoain.

If it were mine?? I'd grab my 0-60 index drill set, find one that fits snug and grab the next size up and try it. If your desperate, I could open up my 85 carb with the OEM kit and see what number bit fits. But, ya can't just go drilling away. You'll need a good drill index 0-60.

Most of the time that jet gets clogged and requires a fine copper wire to pass throught the jet. I have never need a cold start kit. will start at 0 sitting out side.

sounds like the carb. just needs a good cleaning.
